Get your AI provider key

The assistant uses your own AI account.

The assistant uses your own AI account, so you pay your provider directly for what you use and WP Bulk Replace doesn’t charge per message.

Set it up

  1. Get an API key from your AI provider. It is separate from a chat subscription, and the provider bills it.
  2. In WordPress open Bulk Replace › AI settings, choose the provider, paste the key and choose “Check key and continue”.
  3. Pick a model from the list your key returns and save. The key is stored encrypted and never shown again.
  4. In the same screen, under “Where the Assistant may work”, tick the file fields it may use. Until you do, it can work nowhere.

What your provider sees

Your messages, file names, page titles and the plan details the assistant works with. File contents are never sent.

Free messages

Every active Pro licence includes 25 free messages. Only the messages you send count. After the 25th, adding the AI Assistant, API and MCP add-on continues the chat; your settings, reports, backups and rollback stay available.

Free messages are counted by your WP Bulk Replace account. If the site cannot reach it you will see “Could not check your free messages”; try again in a moment.
