The approval setting

Quick by default; ask for approval when you prefer.

On a site that has not used the Assistant before, a clear request is carried out without repeated approval steps: the Assistant replaces the files and reports what it did. A site that already used the Assistant keeps asking until an administrator changes the setting.

Review first, whenever you like

Say “show me the matches first” in a message and the Assistant stops and waits for you, whatever the setting. Anything unclear (several possible files, a different kind of file, big size changes, warnings, a large plan) waits for you too.

Ask for approval every time

Turn on “Always ask for approval” in Bulk Replace › AI settings. The Assistant then prepares a plan, you see every file that would change, and you press Approve or Decline. It can never approve for you. Turning the setting off again takes an administrator and a ticked confirmation.

What never changes

  • The original is backed up first.
  • The result is checked afterwards.
  • A file someone changed in the meantime is never overwritten.
  • Every run is reported, and an administrator can roll a run back: “Undo replacement” in the chat, or “Roll back this run” in History, puts the originals back.

Replacing files is switched off in this release. Plans and previews work today.
